St. Alban’s supports a foster child. Twice a year the foster child board is updated with current pictures and a brief outline of how our foster child is progressing. Our current foster child is a teenage girl in Guatemala.
We are now into our 8th year of providing food for the homeless and less fortunate in our community. Each month a group meets in the church hall to make sandwiches/buns and fill goody bags with fruit, snack bars, puddings and a fruit drink. These are then taken to Southside Community Church in the Kingsway Edmonds area for distribution by Community Outreach Services to the homeless and people in need. Each year 1200 sandwiches and 600 goody bags are made up for distribution.
Primates World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF)
PWRDF is a program of the Anglican Church of Canada. PWRDF is the Anglican response for emergency relief, refugees, development and justice. PWRDF focuses on both short term help for emergencies and also long-term development needs around the world working in partnership with local communities and organizations ‘on the ground’ in the area. Through our giving to PWRDF members of St. Alban’s are able to help people around the world!
